Role Overview:
As an Experienced Plumber Mechanic, you will be responsible for the installation, assembly, upkeep, and repair of various mechanical and plumbing systems following local building codes and project blueprints. Your duties will span a wide array of projects, including ground-up new construction, complex system retrofits, and advanced diagnostic repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret architectural blueprints, technical schematics, and isometric plans to design water and plumbing layouts.
- Install, troubleshoot, and service piping and fixtures for commercial and industrial gas, water, and drainage systems.
- Utilize various hand and power tools to cut, bend, thread, and secure piping with high-level precision.
- Perform hydrostatic testing and utilize pressure gauges to confirm system functionality and identify potential leaks.
- Diagnose complex mechanical failures and execute code-compliant repairs for diverse plumbing issues.
- Ensure all site activities strictly adhere to OSHA safety standards and national, state, and local plumbing regulations.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and supervision to field helpers and apprentices on-site.
- Accurately record project progress, including materials utilized and daily labor hours.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of [5+] years of professional plumbing experience in commercial or residential environments.
- Licensing: Holding a current Journeyman Plumber License (or equivalent local certification) is highly preferred.
- Knowledge: Expert understanding of building laws, plumbing codes, and workplace safety (OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency working with materials such as copper, PVC, PEX, black iron, and cast iron, including brazing, soldering, threading, and grooving techniques.
- Physical Capability: Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, navigate confined spaces, and work on your feet for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Requirements: Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
